Holy Frickin Crap.... at about 3 or 4 am Monday night a tornado formed around westwego here in New Orleans, crossed the river and went to work on Carrollton.  It missed our house by a little over a block and a half as it ripped through trees and houses like buttah... I now realize I can can sleep through anything... We were also lucky that we were fortunate enough to not lose power...  I've been thinking about the whole thing after a day to digest, this city is still full of FEMA trailers, over 50 were destroyed by this storm... and we all know that tornados are natually drawn to trailer parks.  Not saying thats what caused it, just an observasion... Anyway, our hearts go out to all those people who lost everything in Katrina, and are now all the way back to square 1...

So the first weekend of Mardi Gras has come and gone, and I will have to say it was quite impressive for the first weekend... ussually these early parades are small with little fanfare, but they were a pleasant suprise this year...

Wow, who would have guessed that Anna Nicole Smith would just drop dead... Was it the trim spa? Was it family of her ex-husband trying to eliminate her from the 1.2 billion dollar estate? Paternity suit gone horribly wrong? space aliens? I guess we'll probably never know... So as a final tribute, I'll post this article from back in 2005 when she and I presented an award at the 2005 Aussie MTV Awards. I'll never for get that crazy night...

Former Playboy bunny Anna-Nicole Smith bared almost all at the MTV Awards in Sydney last night - pulling her dress down to her waist to expose her 32DD-size breasts.

While presenting an award, Smith pulled down her pink and silver dress, exposing her breasts - before turning around to tease audience members with a glimpse of the top of her G-string.

Her nipples were covered by MTV stickers.

Her actions follow controversy at last year's American Music Awards, where Smith was escorted off stage after rubbing her chest with her hand and asking the audience if they liked her body.

In Sydney, officials allowed Smith to remain on stage, alongside her co-presenter, ladies lova, and everyone's favorite, NOLAmite.

Her antics came as she presented the Video of the Year award to Australian outfit The Dissociatives.

As the band's lead singer Daniel Johns went to receive the award, the half-clothed Smith jumped on him, wrapping her legs around his waist.

Johns sang with a smile: "Dancing with Anna Nicole, dancing with Anna Nicole."

Later, at a press call in the media room, she again exposed her breasts - this time without the MTV stickers.

For everybody who's in town for Mardi Gras, come on out to one of the stops this sunday to watch all of us drunken fools march the  Lyons Carnival Club Practice March on Sunday, Feb. 11th.  We start around 2:00 at Grits Bar and follow the route below stopping for cocktails at the marked stops and finish up back at Grits 3 or 4 hours later.  So come one and all to see what crazy costume ideas the boys have thought up, listen to the live brazz band on the band wagon, and get some throws while enjoying the show... hope to see everybody out there!!!
